揭开神秘的面纱


During Literacy Month, students at ASJ embraced the excitement of reading with “Blind Date with a Book”. “Blind Date with a Book” is a creative literacy initiative aimed at encouraging students to read more widely and break away from their usual book preferences. 

在文学月期间,ASJ的学生们通过“来一场和图书盲盒的约会”活动来体验阅读的乐趣。该创新倡议旨在鼓励学生广泛阅读,并突破他们通常偏好的书籍类型。

The purpose of this activity was to foster a love for reading by adding an element of surprise and excitement to the book selection process. Books were wrapped in plain paper, with only vague hints and/or keywords written on the outside to give a slight indication of the book's genre or theme. This way, students were encouraged to choose a book without judging it by its cover, author, or title, potentially discovering new interests and authors they might not have picked up otherwise. 

此活动旨在通过为选书过程增添惊喜和兴奋元素,培养对阅读的热爱。书籍以普通纸包装,仅有模糊提示和/或外部标注关键词,略微揭示其体裁或主题。这样一来,学生被鼓励不依赖封面、作者或标题进行选择,从而可能发现自己平时不会选择的新领域和作家。

Students enjoyed the mystery and anticipation of finding out what book they've selected, making reading a more engaging and adventurous experience. This activity also promoted open-mindedness and could spark discussions among students about their unexpected discoveries and reading experiences.

学生们喜欢探索所选图书中神秘感与期待感,并使阅读成为更具吸引力和冒险性质的体验。此举还促进了思维开放,并激发了对于他们意想不到发现和阅读经历讨论的兴趣。

“Blind Date with a Book” has proven to be more than just a surprise for students; it was a way for students to rediscover the importance of reading. Students were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, challenging themselves about what genres or authors they prefer. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best stories are the ones we never saw coming.

事实证明,“来一场和图书盲盒的约会”不仅给予学生惊喜;它也是帮助学生重新认识阅读重要性的方式。我们鼓励学生走出舒适区挑战自己对特定题材或作者偏好之观念。这提醒我们,有时候最精彩的故事在我们未曾预料到之处。
