Grade 1

This week in Grade 1, students embraced the attribute of being knowledgeable by exploring feelings and emotions through mask-making and charades. In literacy, they learned about Proper Nouns, recognising them as specific names that always begin with a capital letter. In mathematics, students began exploring the concept of time and how it influences their daily lives. These activities encouraged curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding across all areas of learning.

Grade 2

In Grade 2, they focused on being knowledgeable by learning about regular and irregular polygons and building 3D shapes while exploring their vertices, faces, and edges. In Literacy, they delved into shape poems and used their creativity to write their own. It was a week of discovery and hands-on learning!

Grade 3 students embarked on an exciting journey to deepen their knowledge and understanding across a range of subjects. In Maths, they continued delving into coordinates, mastering the art of identifying, writing, and plotting them confidently. Their creativity shone as they constructed vibrant 2D shapes on grids designed in the first quadrant, turning abstract concepts into engaging visual experiences.

Grade 4 students have demonstrated their knowledge of various ideas and interests by writing persuasive articles. They have also enhanced their understanding of the topics that captivate them by conducting independent research.

Grade 5

Grade 5 students showed great knowledge while exploring science, eagerly participating in discussions. By asking questions and sharing insights, they created collaborative presentations that ignited their passion for discovery.

Grade 6A

Over the past week, the Grade 6A students have applied their research skills to create presentations focused on cultural perspectives and the influence of culture on communication methods. Each student has selected a specific country for their research and shared their insights regarding its contemporary and historical languages, as well as its music, art, and other pertinent aspects related to communication.

Grade 6B

In Grade 6B, students demonstrated their knowledge by completing tests in Literacy, Maths, and Unit of Inquiry, summarising the key concepts they have mastered. Additionally, they created 3D models reflecting their personal experiences, showcasing what they learned in the unit "How We Express Ourselves."

Art

Students of all grades have been applied their knowledge to create a wide array of diverse artwork. From intricate mixed media pieces that blend various materials and techniques to vibrant collages that burst with colour and texture, and innovative 3D projects that challenge spatial perceptions, each student has brought their unique perspective and creativity to life through their art. Whether working with traditional mediums like pencils and markers or exploring modern tools, the young artists have shown remarkable skill and imagination in their creations.

Music

In music classes, students became more knowledgeable by appreciating Chunwan performances, gaining insights into diverse musical styles and cultural contexts. As they prepared for the Chinese New Year concert, they applied this understanding, enriching their performances with depth and authenticity, and demonstrating a growing mastery of musical elements.

ICT

In ICT class, students from G1-G6 showcased being knowledgeable by applying their understanding of programming to create dynamic and interactive projects. They built on what they learned, using logic and creativity to solve problems and design unique solutions. By combining new concepts with prior knowledge, students demonstrated how technology can turn ideas into reality.

Mandarin FL

Students were busy preparing for exams, focusing on reviewing the knowledge they had learned. Through this process, their understanding was reinforced, making them more knowledgeable and well-prepared for the tests.

This week, students focused on reviewing the knowledge they had learned this semester and consolidated their understanding through exercises, making full preparations for the exam.

Chinese Maths

Grade 1 students focused on review in preparation for exams. Students revisited addition and subtraction within 20, applying these skills to solve problems. Through these activities, their mathematical knowledge and problem-solving abilities were reinforced, equipping them well for the assessments. 

一年级的学生围绕考试展开复习工作。学生重点回顾了20以内的加减法运算，并运用相关知识解决实际问题，同时还对立体图形、分与合、排序知识进行了梳理。通过系统复习，学生们的数学知识体系得以巩固，数学思维与解题能力得到提升，为考试奠定了坚实的基础。

P.E.

This week, Lower Primary students practised handstands and headstands during gymnastics lessons. Students discussed how to keep themselves in balance while standing upside down and learning about triangular stabilisation when coming up. Most students could perform great handstands by applying the knowledge they had gained in the class.

Boarding

This week, the PY boarding students participated in the ‘Balloon Challenge,’ which encouraged teamwork and strategic thinking, culminating in the rewarding experience of winning balloons. Additionally, they adhered to the rules of cleaning-up, reinforcing the importance of maintaining a clean and safe environment. These activities highlighted that being knowledgeable extends beyond academics to include practical actions and responsibilities. Together, they fostered a sense of community and demonstrated how learning can be applied in meaningful ways.
