Grade 1
This week in Grade 1, students embraced the attribute of being knowledgeable by exploring feelings and emotions through mask-making and charades. In literacy, they learned about Proper Nouns, recognising them as specific names that always begin with a capital letter. In mathematics, students began exploring the concept of time and how it influences their daily lives. These activities encouraged curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding across all areas of learning.

Students of all grades have been applied their knowledge to create a wide array of diverse artwork. Whether working with traditional mediums like pencils and markers or exploring modern tools, the young artists have shown remarkable skill and imagination in their creations.

In music classes, students became more knowledgeable by appreciating Chunwan performances, gaining insights into diverse musical styles and cultural contexts. As they prepared for the Chinese New Year concert, they applied this understanding, enriching their performances with depth and authenticity, and demonstrating a growing mastery of musical elements.

Chinese Maths
Grade 1 students focused on review in preparation for exams. Students revisited addition and subtraction within 20, applying these skills to solve problems. Through these activities, their mathematical knowledge and problem-solving abilities were reinforced, equipping them well for the assessments.

This week, Lower Primary students practised handstands and headstands during gymnastics lessons. Students discussed how to keep themselves in balance while standing upside down and learning about triangular stabilisation when coming up. Most students could perform great handstands by applying the knowledge they had gained in the class.

Boarding

These activities highlighted that being knowledgeable extends beyond academics to include practical actions and responsibilities. Together, they fostered a sense of community and demonstrated how learning can be applied in meaningful ways.
