Ocean Protection Campaign

Within the transdisciplinary unit of Sharing the Planet, Sharon and Yoyo, Grade 6 students, have chosen to address the critical issue of ocean protection, highlighting its significance in relation to global environmental challenges. To raise awareness within their community, they have initiated a campaign consisting of three key steps:

1. Class Presentations: They engaged their peers in the Primary Department by conducting presentations in each classroom, discussing the current pollution levels affecting our oceans. Each class has received a poster to serve as a daily reminder of our detrimental impact on marine ecosystems.

2. Online Article: They wrote a news article, which has been published on the school website and is attached here, to convey information about the significance of ocean conservation and preservation.

3. Final Exhibition: During the upcoming Final Exhibition, they will instruct a larger audience, encouraging visitors to pledge their commitment to spreading awareness in their communities or to contribute financially to the protection of endangered marine species, including whales, which are severely impacted by overhunting and plastic pollution.

Together with Sharon and Yoyo, we can create a brighter future for our oceans and protect our precious marine ecosystems.
