On 26th February 2025, thirty-one junior secondary students from ASJ (Dongguan) embarked on an educational visit to the Humen Naval Battle Museum. The delegation participated in the "Gateway of Awakening, Land of Heroes" commemorative programme - a series of events organised by the Opium War Museum to mark the 184th anniversary of the historic Humen engagement, under the thematic banner "Tracing Heroic Legacies: Retracing Historic Battlefields".

2月26日，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校中学部的31名初中生在3名老师的陪同下，前往虎门海战博物馆，参加了由鸦片战争博物馆主办的“觉醒之门 英雄之地”莞台港澳青少年“寻迹英雄”重走古战场——纪念“虎门之战”184周年系列主题活动。

During the commemorations, student representatives from ASJ (Dongguan) delivered a heartfelt recitation entitled The Paragon of Valour: Guan Tianpei. Their performance vividly recounted the fierce engagement of 26th February 1841, when Guan Tianpei, then commander of the Guangdong Navy, led his troops in defending Jingyuan Fort against overwhelming British forces until he was fatally struck by cannon fire. His heroic sacrifice and unwavering patriotism continue to deeply resonate with people today.

活动现场，东莞ASJ学生代表上台朗诵了作品《最杰出的元帅——关天培》。他们生动讲述了1841年2月26日，英军集中火力对虎门炮台第二道防线的主阵地威远、靖远、镇远炮台发起猛烈进攻。时任广东水师提督关天培临危不惧，率部坚守靖远炮台，最终不幸被炮弹击中，壮烈殉国。他的事迹可歌可泣，其舍生忘死、誓与炮台共存亡的英雄气概和民族精神，至今仍被代代传颂。

The ceremony continued with participants paying solemn homage through floral tributes at Admiral Guan's memorial statue. Following an official flag presentation conducted by museum representatives, student representatives from Guangdong, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao commenced the battlefield heritage trail. This first-hand educational experience guided young participants to immerse themselves in the historic site and cultivate a deeper understanding of this pivotal event.

随后，大家向关天培雕像敬献鲜花，表达对关天培将军的深切缅怀与沉痛哀悼。在鸦片战争博物馆相关负责人授旗之后，活动进入“寻迹英雄 重走古战场”环节。莞台港澳四地青少年参观了威远炮台，通过了解炮台的历史、聆听英雄的故事，上了一堂生动的历史文化课。
