ASJ (Dongguan) ceremoniously held the 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony and Annual Award-Presentation Ceremony on 1st September 2025. School leaders, teachers, students, parents, and distinguished guests from various sectors gathered on the ASJ campus to witness this significant occasion.

2025年9月1日，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校隆重举行了2025-2026学年开学典礼暨周年颁奖礼。学校领导、师生、家长以及社会各界嘉宾齐聚校园，共同见证了这一重要时刻。

The ceremony commenced with warm greetings from student hosts in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, showcasing the school's multicultural atmosphere and international educational characteristics.

典礼在学生主持人们以普通话、粤语和英语的热情问候中拉开帷幕，展现了学校多元文化的氛围与国际化办学特色。

本次典礼荣幸地邀请到了多位重要嘉宾，包括香港特别行政区前教育局局长、金紫荆星章获得者、太平绅士吴克俭教授，东莞伊顿教育集团董事长、学校理事长董旭原先生，遵理联席创始人、贵州省政协委员梁贺琪博士，以及来自广东省宋庆龄基金会、东莞市教育局、东莞市侨联等机构的领导和代表。各位嘉宾的到来体现了社会各界对学校发展的深切关怀与大力支持。

During the solemn flag-raising ceremony, the national anthem of the People's Republic of China was performed with great respect, showcasing the patriotism of teachers and students.

在庄严的升旗仪式中，全场奏唱了中华人民共和国国歌，展现了师生们的爱国情怀与崇高敬意。

As the Guest of Honour, Professor Ng Hak-kim, GBS, JP, delivered an opening speech emphasising the educational philosophy of "fostering virtue and nurturing talents." He stated: "Academic excellence alone is not enough; good character is the key to your future success." He encouraged students to focus on both physical and mental well-being while pursuing academic achievements, concluding with wishes for growth and achievements in the new semester.

吴克俭教授作为主礼嘉宾发表了开幕致辞，他特别强调了"立德树人"的教育理念，指出："仅仅成绩优秀是不够的，良好的品格，才是你们赢得未来的关键。"他鼓励同学们在努力学习的同时，也要注重身心健康和自我管理能力的培养，最后，他祝愿同学们能在新的学期里有所收获、有所成长。

Mr. TANG Ping-keung, GBS, PDSM, JP, Secretary for Security of the HKSAR Government, also extended his congratulations via video message. He encouraged students to seize the development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, "deeply learn and inherit Chinese culture, promote exchanges between Hong Kong, the Mainland and the international community, understand national development trends, and strive to become builders of our nation's new quality productive forces."

香港特别行政区保安局局长邓炳强先生也通过视频致辞，对学校新学年的开始表示祝贺。他勉励同学们把握大湾区发展机遇，“深入学习和传承中华文化、促进香港与内地及国际交流、了解国家发展趋势并努力成为国家的新质生产力的建设者”。

此外，学校特聘遵理集团联席创始人、贵州省政协委员梁贺琪博士及副行政总裁兼首席财务长蔡诚伟先生为荣誉校董。理事长董旭原先生和校监易丽华女士共同颁发聘书，标志着双方将携手共育具有国际视野的优秀人才。

Mr. Samuel KAM, Executive Principal, delivered a speech detailing the school's structure and educational vision for the new academic year. He urged the school community to commit to the core values of "respect, responsibility, and resilience," emphasising: "Let's create an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and encouraged to express their views, working together to foster a culture of kindness and inclusivity."

执行校长金礼贤先生代表学校致辞，详细介绍了新学年的学校架构与教育愿景。他呼吁全体师生共同践行学校的核心价值观："尊重、责任与坚韧"。他强调："让我们共同营造一个让每个人感到安全、受支持且受鼓励表达观点的环境，携手培育善良与包容的校园文化。"

The Principals of Early Years and Primary (Ms. Hina PATEL), Junior Secondary (Ms. Diana ZHANG), Senior Secondary (Mr. Joe ZHOU) and Discipline & Student Guidance (Ms. Penny PENG) also addressed the audience, introducing their respective teams and educational philosophies, collectively pledging to provide students with quality international education.

随后，幼小部校长Ms. Hina PATEL、初中部校长张悦女士、高中部校长周昱东先生及德育校长彭欣光女士分别致辞，介绍了各部门的团队特色与育人理念，共同承诺为学生提供更优质的国际化教育。

During the awards presentation, multiple awards were given to students for their exceptional performance, including the Outstanding Student Award, Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Student Class Leader Award, various scholarships, and Outstanding OLE Award. The achievements of these students in academics, leadership, and overall development highlighted the school's educational accomplishments.

在颁奖环节中，学校为表现优异的学生颁发了多项奖项，包括优秀学生奖、学术卓越奖、优秀班干部奖、各级奖学金以及课外活动优秀奖等。获奖学生们在学术、领导力和综合素质方面的出色表现，充分体现了学校的教育成果。

典礼特别设置了庄严的师生宣誓环节。教师代表以"以至诚至爱之心，因材施教，引领学生启智求真"为誓，承诺恪守师德、培育栋梁；学生代表则宣誓"以启发、互动、合作、创新的精神专心学习，尊师重道，胸怀祖国，放眼世界"。铿锵誓言展现了全校师生团结一心、共赴新征程的决心。

Finally, Grade 11 student representatives offered encouragement to Grade 12 students, and school leaders presented them with HKDSE countdown timers, urging them to cherish time and strive for success.

最后，十一年级学生代表为十二年级学生送上鼓励与祝福，学校领导也为他们颁发了HKDSE倒计时器，勉励他们珍惜时光、全力以赴。

As the new academic year begins, ASJ (Dongguan) remains committed to the philosophy of whole-person education, dedicating itself to the holistic development of students and nurturing global citizens with international perspectives and social responsibility. The school will continue to contribute wisdom and strength to the development of the Greater Bay Area and the global community.
