As part of our commitment to whole-person education and in alignment with the HKDSE curriculum, which emphasises the importance of experiential learning beyond the classroom, our school recently organised a volunteer service visit for Grade 12 students to the Guangdong Yirong Disability Foster Care Service Centre.

为践行全人教育理念，并契合香港中学文凭课程重视校外体验式学习的宗旨，我校近日组织十二年级学生前往广东毅融残疾人托养照护服务中心，开展了一次富有意义的志愿服务。

During the visit, students were guided by staff to tour the facility and learn about the centre’s mission and residents. They gained insight into the lives of individuals with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, and how the centre supports them in developing life skills and social integration. Many residents also engage in vocational activities to earn income through their efforts.

活动中，学生在中心工作人员的带领下参观了设施环境，了解了中心的运营模式和服务对象。他们认识到，这里的学员大多为智力或精神障碍人士，中心通过系统训练帮助他们提升自理能力、融入社会，并借助劳动实践创造收益。

The students were then divided into five groups and took part in various interactive sessions. Through ice-breaking games, they quickly connected with the residents. Some joined in crafting handmade flowers, while others collaborated on diamond paintings. Several students read books with the residents, engaged in heartfelt conversations, or participated in group games—experiencing firsthand the creativity, warmth and dedication that fill the residents' daily lives.

随后，学生们分为五组，积极参与了不同形式的互动。在破冰游戏中，他们与学员迅速拉近了距离。有的小组与学员共同制作手工花，有的合作完成钻石画，还有的同学耐心为学员朗读图书、亲切交谈，或一起投入小组游戏——亲身感受学员们平日生活中的专注、温暖与创造力。

Throughout the engagement, our students demonstrated consistent respect, kindness, and thoughtful manners—a true reflection of the values our school seeks to instill.

在整个互动过程中，学生们始终以礼貌、尊重和善良的态度与学员交流，这正是我校所倡导的品格教育的生动体现。
