DSE地理科学习——亲身探索高科技产业

After learning about the locational factors of the US information technology industry in G11 Geography class, we organised a visit to Dapu Telecom Co., Ltd. located in Dongguan Songshan Lake Science Park on November 4th. This activity aimed to let students gain first-hand experience of the environment, operation, and development of high-tech industries.

G11地理科刚学习美国信息科技工业的区位因素，为了让学生们实地体验高科技工业的环境、运作和发展，我们于11月4日组织参观位于东莞市松山湖园区的大普通信技术股份有限公司。

As the tour bus entered Songshan Lake Science Park, students immediately observed that a pleasant environment is a key locational factor for high-tech industries—it attracts high-skilled talents to work there. The students were greatly impressed. They first visited a gymnasium comparable to that of a five-star hotel, realising that large high-tech companies need such supporting facilities for employees’ leisure. This also inspired the students to study hard and fostered their ambition to work in well-established enterprises in the future.

当旅游巴进入松山湖园区时，学生们已经观察到环境优美是高科技工业的重要区位因素，以吸引高技术人才在那里工作。学生们大开眼界，首先进入一个达到五星级酒店的健身房，明白高科技工业公司需要配套这样的设施，供员工休闲时使用，也让学生们立志努力学习，建立进入具规模的公司就业的愿景。

Next, we visited the R&D Centre, where students learned about the chip manufacturing process. They applied the industrial system knowledge from the Hong Kong DSE Geography curriculum—including inputs, processes, and outputs—and understood why high-tech industries adopt multilateral industrial location strategies: leveraging the advantages of both developed and developing countries to achieve efficient production and maximise profits.

然后我们参观了研发中心，了解芯片的制造过程，应用在香港DSE地理课程里学到的工业系统知识，包括投入、过程和产出，并认识高科技工业实行多边工业区位的原因——利用发达国家和欠发达国家的优势，达到高效的生产效率和利润最大化。

Additionally, the manager from Dapu Telecom held an exchange session with the students in the conference room. The students actively asked questions and gained a deep understanding of the importance of sales and market factors. They also learned that the company’s partners include renowned domestic and international enterprises such as Xiaomi, BYD, Samsung, Amazon, Siemens, and TCL etc. Finally, the manager shared the founder’s entrepreneurial journey—who started the business at the age of 24—to encourage the students to study diligently and create a better future for themselves.

另外，大普通信技术股份有限公司的经理让学生们在会议室进行交流，学生们积极发问，深入了解销售和市场因素非常重要，其合作方包括小米、比亚迪、三星、亚马逊、西门子、TCL等等知名国内及国外企业。最后，经理以大普通信技术股份有限公司创始人从24岁开始的创业经历，鼓励学生们勤奋学习，为自己创造更好的未来。
