School-Parent collaboration plays an essential role in the development journey of our children. On 10 Dec, Wednesday, ASJ(Dongguan) held an afternoon tea party with some parents coming from both junior and senior forms. Parents arrived quite early, getting ready for the teatime with parents at the courtyard. Mr. Samuel KAM, the Executive Principal, Mr. Joe ZHOU, the Principal of Senior Secondary, Mr. Edwin CHOI, the Honorary School Trustee and two teaching consultants, Dr. Anne Chan and Dr. Fung, all welcomed them.

家校协作在孩子的成长道路上至关重要。12月10日，东莞ASJ举办了一场温馨的中学部家长下午茶会。家长们提前抵达，准备在校园庭院中与其他家长共度茶叙时光。执行校长金礼贤先生、高中部校长周昱东先生、荣誉校董蔡诚伟先生，以及两位教学顾问——陈绮雯博士和冯金燕博士，均到场欢迎家长，畅谈培育孩子的心得与建议。

乐韵悠扬 High Tea Time

The gathering commenced with the welcome speech by Mr. Samuel KAM. After that, parents started introduced themselves briefly and they all shared the reasons for sending their kids to ASJ(Dongguan). They all appreciated the efforts that all homeroom teachers and subject teachers put in nurturing their children. They all commented that based on students’ feedback, teachers teach them patiently and seriously.

活动由金礼贤执行校长的欢迎致辞拉开序幕。随后，家长们逐一进行简短的自我介绍，并分享了选择让孩子入读东莞ASJ的原因。家长们一致认可各班班主任及学科老师在培养学生方面所付出的努力，并提到从学生的反馈中了解到，老师们教学认真耐心，且能在学业、心理健康等各方面给予学生全面的关怀与支持。

Moreover, they all can show care and support to students in all aspects, including their study and mental health. Furthermore, parents all recognise the mission and vision of ASJ(Dongguan) and feel blessed that their children are studying at an Hong Kong Participating School, the only one in Dongguan. During the event, parents feel comfortable with providing some suggestions on how to further assist students in learning. They also seek professional advice from principals on the methods of preparing students for the public examination.

此外，家长们也十分认同东莞ASJ的使命与愿景，并为孩子能在东莞唯一一所HKDSE与考学校就读感到欣慰。茶会期间，家长们愉快地提出了关于如何进一步协助学生学习的建议，并向校长们咨询了有关备考公开考试的专业指导。

This tea gathering deepens our home-school bond. Through heart-to-heart exchanges with school leaders and open sharing between parents, we were reminded of the true purpose of education and the strength of walking alongside our children in these relaxed and pleasant moments. What impressed me the most was that the principal remembered each of our children's names and their daily progress, which showed genuine care and attentiveness—as if every student were his own. We discussed topics like daily routines, sufficient physical activity, and whether extra academic support was needed, with each parent offering different perspectives. No school system can satisfy every parent entirely, and what makes a school successful is mutual understanding, compromise, communication, and follow-through between home and school. As long as the bridge of communication remains open, there is always room to grow. School is a child's second home, and the warmth they find here matters more than anything. Thank you, ASJ family!

最令我印象深刻的是校长记得我们所有孩子的名字及日常表现，令我感觉到校长是用心聆听学生，视学生如自家孩子。我们讨论了学生的作息时间、运动是否足够，是否需要额外补课等议题，每个家长都有不同观点与角度。世上没有任何一间学校的制度与运作能够满足每一个家长，学校之所以成功，是有每一个家与校之间的体谅、忍让、沟通和执行。沟通的桥梁在，进步的空间在，学校是孩子第二个家，孩子在这里有家庭温暖便胜于一个，谢谢ASJ大家庭！

Attending the tea gathering was a truly touching and reassuring experience. This face-to-face exchange not only brought parents and the school closer but also helped me better understand the school’s student-centred educational philosophy. Many thanks to Principal KAM for the invitation to the school tea gathering. I truly felt the care that each principal and teacher has for the students. I was also glad to see the school actively listening to parents’ feedback and continuously striving to improve teaching quality.
