书香传爱心 服务践初心

To cultivate a sense of social responsibility and a spirit of service among students, our school has recently organised students to go to Gaobu Library for book sorting volunteer services on many occasions. These activities aim to allow students to practice the original intention of public welfare through concrete actions, improve themselves through dedication, and contribute the youthful strength of Hong Kong and Macao students to the society.

为培育学生的社会责任感与服务精神，近期，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校多次组织学生前往高埗图书馆，开展书籍整理义工服务。此类活动旨在让同学们以实际行动践行公益初心，在奉献中提升自我，为社会贡献着属于港澳学子的青春力量。

As a vital window for public cultural services in the township, Gaobu Library has a collection of nearly 240,000 volumes. With a consistently high daily circulation, the workload for re-shelving and sorting books is heavy. After coordinating with the library, the Student Discipline and Guidance Department of ASJ (Dongguan) incorporated volunteer service into the students’ moral education practice project, and formulated an activity plan featuring “regular service, rotational shifts, and individual accountability,” thereby making public service a normalised and standardised activity.

高埗图书馆作为镇街公共文化服务的重要窗口，馆藏近24万册图书，日均借阅量居高不下，书籍归架、分类整理等工作任务繁重。东莞暨大港澳子弟学校德育处与图书馆对接后，将义工服务纳入学生德育实践项目，制定“定期服务、分组轮岗、责任到人”的活动方案，让公益服务常态化、规范化。

On the day of the event, dressed in uniform volunteer attire, the students began their work methodically after a brief training session by library staff. They collaborated efficiently, carefully sorting and shelving returned books and patiently tidying up every volume on the shelves to ensure readers could locate books quickly and easily. Additionally, they assisted staff in maintaining the reading environment and provided help to citizens visiting the library.

活动当天，学生们身着统一的义工服，在图书馆工作人员的简要培训后，便开始分工协作，有条不紊地忙碌起来。他们细心地将归还的书籍分类、上架，耐心地整理书架上的每一本书，确保读者能够方便快捷地找到所需书目。同时，他们还协助图书馆工作人员维护阅读环境，为前来阅读的市民提供帮助。

The head of Gaobu Library spoke highly of the students’ performance, “These students have performed exceptionally well. They are conscientious, responsible, enthusiastic, and positive, providing tangible assistance to the library’s daily operations. We also hope that through such cooperation, we can build a bridge between the library and the school.”

高埗图书馆负责人对同学们的表现给予了高度评价：“这些同学表现非常出色，他们工作认真负责，态度积极热情，为图书馆的日常运营提供了实实在在的帮助。我们也希望通过这样的合作，搭建起图书馆与学校之间的桥梁。”

“In the past, I came to the library to read, but now I come to serve. It feels completely different. Seeing the bookshelves I organised being used by readers makes me very happy and gives me a special sense of achievement,” said ZHAO Hengji, a student who participated in the activity.

“以前来图书馆是看书，现在来是服务，感觉特别不一样，看到自己整理的书架被读者使用，特别开心，特别有成就感。”参与活动的赵恒基同学说道。

Our school has established a long-term cooperative relationship with Gaobu Library, making library volunteer service a regular moral education practice project. In the future, our school will expand to include more public welfare practice platforms, encouraging students to pay attention to society, serve the community, enhance their capabilities through practice, and realise their personal value through dedication.

我校已与高埗图书馆建立了长期合作关系，将图书馆义工服务作为常态化的德育实践项目。未来，学校还将拓展更多公益实践平台，鼓励学生关注社会、服务社群，在实践中增长才干，在奉献中实现价值。
