Practice in PBL | G8学子香港中文大学探秘及文史侦查

To help our Grade 8 students understand Hong Kong's culture and experience the academic environment, they visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong for a project-based learning (PBL) activity after their first term exams . The visit focused on setting objectives, providing life planning information, and enhancing their academic knowledge.
为让学生进一步了解香港本土文化特色,感受香港知名大学的学术氛围,提升知识学习的场景感,帮助学生树立目标意识,为学生生涯规划提供信息支持,进一步加深对学科学习的理解,期末考试结束后的活动周,本校G8学子前往香港中文大学进行PBL实践探索。

Exploring the University 大学探秘

During the campus tour, students viewed the "Chongji Stone," explored the university bookstore, and observed the vibrant atmosphere in the "Engineering Building." They appreciated the "Brutalism" architectural style, visited the library and cultural relics museum, and enjoyed meals at the cafeteria and snacks from local stores. This experience deepened their understanding of university life and the overall learning environment.
G8学子们步行参观了大学校园,穿过“崇基石”,在大学书店购买文创,一瞥“工程学大楼”的实验氛围,感受“粗犷主义”的建筑群风格,并且前往图书馆和大学文物馆进行参观。同学们体验了大学的食堂餐和小吃店,在图书馆观察了认真学习的“大学生”,对大学整体的学习氛围有了新的认识。

Teacher Zhu, a researcher from The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Special Collections Department, presented a lecture as part of the "Hong Kong Literature Special Collection" exhibition. Students explored Hong Kong literature through various knick-knacks, noting how items like "Coca-Cola" and the Bible, along with traditional symbols from the "Sleeping Cat House," illustrate the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. Theater and movie tickets further showcased Hong Kong's cultural development. Additionally, students engaged with the "AR Interaction: Chinese Language Learning and Hong Kong Literary Trail."
由香港中文大学特藏部的研究员朱老师进行专业讲授,作为“香港文学特藏”的展览,学生了解了香港文学的作家代表,并通过各种小物收藏感受香港文学的本土特征。例如,学生在作业中提到,各类“可口可乐”和《圣经》的小物,与传统“睡猫居”的象形文字在一起,体现了香港社会东西文化交汇的特征。而各类戏票、电影票也让学生看到了香港社会文化的发展。此外,学生还体验了香港中文大学研发的“AR互动:语文学习与香港文学径”。




Library Visit: Bond Between CUHK and Tsinghua University
图书馆参观:香港中文大学和清华大学的百年情

Students learned about the historical ties between CUHK and Tsinghua University during times of crisis. Through interactive AI presentations, they explored the histories of both institutions, viewed old photographs, and examined the transcripts of Tsinghua's first graduating class.
学生感受了在危难之际,两所名校因教育结缘。通过AI人物互动提问了解了两所学校的校史,还参观了包括朱自清先生、杨振宁先生等人的旧照,还阅读了清华第一届毕业生的成绩单。

文物馆参观:
元青花:景德镇考古新发现展览

Students gained insights into the Yuan Dynasty's history by viewing recently unearthed porcelain from Jingdezhen. They noted how economic prosperity influenced cultural development and facilitated exchanges between China and foreign cultures, with museum ambassadors offering professional insights.
同学们通过参观景德镇出土的不同类型的瓷器,从器型、纹饰感受元代的历史,同时感受经济水平对文化的促进,以及中外交流在瓷器发展上的融合体现。文物馆大使为同学们提供了专业的讲解。




Exploring Chinese Language, History, Citizenship, Economics, and Society
学科探秘:中国语文科、中国历史科、公民、经济与社会科

In the Chinese language section, students delved into Hong Kong literature, creatively writing narratives about life in a world of "small objects" and exploring the "beauty of imperfection" in porcelain shards.
中国语文科部分,学生感受了香港文学的特点,学生可以发挥想象,创作生活在“小物”世界的一天,也通过瓷器碎片,感受了“残缺美”所蕴含的文学情感。
In the history segment, they examined the Yuan Dynasty, learning about the influence of Tang and Song cultures and the impact of ethnic integration on cultural development.
中国历史科部分,学生回顾了元代的发展历程,并且感受唐宋文化对元代文化,和元代民族交融对文化发展在实际生活中的应用。
Through cross-border travel, students observed the Hong Kong government's role in society and engaged with the concept of "One Country, Two Systems" via hands-on activities. They also created plans for their future studies.
公民、经济与社会科部分:同学们通过两地通关,继续感受香港政府在香港社会中的发挥的作用,并且以香港公民身份,关注政府施政。也通过实践活动,感受“一国两制”的在生活中的具体体现。同时,学生也为未来的学习提出了计划。



学生作业展示
This activity provided Grade 8 students with a glimpse into higher education and strengthened their ties to Hong Kong society. By using a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach, students integrated knowledge across disciplines and understood its real-world applications. The junior secondary section will continue to offer diverse PBL activities to enhance students’ inquiry skills and foster social responsibility.
本次实践活动,不仅让G8学生感受了高等教育的学习环境,也加深了本校学生和香港社会的联系。同时采取项目制学习(PBL)的方式,融会了不同学科的关联,也加深了学生对于知识在生活场景中应用的体会。未来,初中部会继续组织多元的项目式学习活动,让学生走入社会、走进社区,锻炼学生的实践探究能力,同时培养学生的社会责任感。
